The Son of man must suffer many things, and be
rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and
be raised the third day. ~Luke 9:22
HE CAME knowing He would be rejected by many (for He was spat upon and mocked by His own).
HE CAME knowing the cruelty of death on a cross (for He created the human body, and knew that He would face an agony that cannot be described).
HE CAME knowing that the sins of the entire world (past, present, and future) would be placed on Him (He who knew no sin became sin for us).
HE CAME knowing that for the first (and last) time in all eternity He would be separated from the Father and Holy Spirit (no wonder the earth shook, rocks split in half, graves were opened, and darkness enveloped the earth).
HE CAME to split the veil from top to bottom so that we may have permanent access to the Father.
HE CAME to give us victory over sin, hell, and the grave as He arose on that third day!!
HE CAME to die that we might live!!!
Oh, what a love! What a Savior!
